Some things are best left unseen. Like that Gazebo scene. But nothing is easier than Better than Sex Cake. Well, maybe…..
Ingredients
- Devil’s Food Chocolate Cake mix (and the ingredients listed there….usually 2-3 eggs and 1/4-1/2 cup of oil, depending on your brand of choice)
- 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
- 16 oz jar of caramel sauce (if you have a great homemade caramel or butterscotch sauce, please share with me! I sometimes use honey or maple syrup.)
- 8 oz tub cool whip (or use my recipe of Rachel’s homemade whipped cream….I usually make this to avoid the chemicals)
- 4 heath bars, chopped (You can also find bags of chopped up Heath bars next to the bags of chocolate chips in the baking aisle.)
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 pan with non-stick spray.
- Make the cake according to the package directions for the 9×13 cake.
- When the cake is done baking, use the round handle end of wooden spoon or spatula to poke holes throughout the cake (Stainless steel straw works too!).
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk all over the top of the cake and spread it out.
- Pour the caramel sauce over the top of the cake and spread it out.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least two hours (sip some whiskey with your frenemy while you wait).
- Spread the cool whip or homemade whipped cream on top ad sprinkle the chopped Heath bars.
- Enjoy this cake while watching favorite scene from Outlander to forget the Gazebo scene even happened.
